Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. One of the most prominent horse racing venues in Argentina, its installations include a 2400 meter (1.5 mile) track suitable for races in all weather.
The establishment was founded on May 7, 1876, as the first racecourse in Buenos Aires, and the first National Derby was held there in 1884. A sales floor for racing thoroughbreds, Tattersall de Palermo, was opened in 1898. The original viewing stands were replaced by a Beaux Arts tribune designed by Louis Faure Dujarric, in 1908.
