Higashiyamato (東大和市, Higashiyamato-shi^?) is a city located in Tokyo, Japan.

The city was established as Yamato Village on November 1, 1919, promoted to a town on May 3, 1954, and renamed as Higashiyamato on its promotion to a city, on October 1, 1970.

Higashiyamato operates public elementary and junior high schools.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Board of Education operates public high schools.
