Herāt University (Persian: دانشگاه هرات) is located in the city of Herat, capital of Herat province, in western Afghanistan.

The Herat University is located in Herat Afghanistan. It was founded in 1988 . Herat University is currently attended by approximately 3,000 students, of which 900 are females. The university is still recovering from the long period of war and chaos in the country. The main site is under construction , which has the new design and Construction technology.

Herat University consists of 12 faculties in fields of Agriculture, Economics, Pharmacy, Islamic Studies, Law, Computer Science, Language and Literature, Science, Engineering, Journalism, Veterinary medicine, Social Science and Fine Arts.
