Henri Giscard d'Estaing (born October 17, 1956) is a French business figure and son of former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing.[1]

Giscard d'Estaing studied at Paris' l'Institut d'études politiques (Sciences Po), before obtaining a masters in Economic Science.

He helped his father on his 1981 Presidential campaign and was responsible for the Young Giscardians Movement (Mouvement des Jeunes Giscardiens).

At 22, he was the youngest person in France to serve as a Conseiller Général, serving the area of Loir-et-Cher. Anecdotally, as part of his job, he participated in a military parade on July 14, 1980, driving a tank before the eyes of his father, then the President of France.

After finishing his studies in Marketing at the Institut d'Études Cofremca, he entered at Boussois-Souchon-Neuvesel-Danone in 1987, working as Director of Development between 1987 and 1990, then as managing director of HP - Lea & Perrins in the United Kingdom for 2 years. As CEO of Evian, left his job to sign with the Danone group as the CEO of their mineral water branch.

In 1997, he joined Club Méditerranée as their Director of Finance, Development, and International Relations and as a member of the board. In October, 2001, he became a General Director, and from December 16, 2002, he served as CEO, replacing Philippe Bourguignon. He has also been an administrator of Groupe Casino since 2004, and a member of Vedior's oversight council since April 28, 2006.

On the 20 January, 2009 he was involved in an avalanche while skiing off piste in the resort of Valmorel. One of the Club Med executives was buried and seriously injured in the incident. The group were surveying the mountains as part of a planned luxury development in the resort.[2] The Avalanche risk was High at the time.
