Heart of Hajduk (Croatian: Hajdučko srce) is an annual football award established in 1994 and officially given by supporters of Hajduk Split, Torcida, to the club's player considered to have put in maximum effort and performed the best over the previous season. In 2006 and 2009 the title wasn't awarded because, according to supporters' judgment, none of the players deserved it since Hajduk, usually a Croatian powerhouse and a title contender, faired poorly in both domestic competitions. In 2005 Hajduk finished fifth in the national championship, and in 2009 the club finished second in the championship and were runners-up in the national cup. The supporters' frustration was increased further still when went through much turmoil and the team experienced a series of humiliating results at the beginning of the 2009–10 season, which led to the cancellation of the award for the second time since its establishment.
