Anprolene and Sterijet were invented by H. W. Andersen, M.D. to sterilize with Ethylene oxide (EtO) the Andersen Tube, the first double lumen nasogastric tube. Founder of Andersen Products, Inc. he patented on April 22, 1969 Steritest which was the first self-contained biological indicator, eliminating the need to have a test organism on hand and also reducing the risk of a false positive as a result of contamination from a source other than that placed in the sterilization load. Other inventions Andersen patented and manufactured are Seal and Peel, Dosimeter, Humidichip, HumidiTube, EOGas, Shirley Wound Drain, Sump Pump, Thorovac.
