Happy Birthday, Garfield is a 60 minute Garfield television special celebrating the tenth birthday anniversary of the creation of the Garfield comic strip. The special originally aired on CBS in North America on May 17, 1988 and was hosted by Jim Davis who gives the viewers a tour of the day to day workings of Paws, Inc. and the creation of the Garfield comic. The special was released on VHS by CBS/Fox Video in North America and internationally by Missing in Action in 1988 and has never been released since. This is also the only Garfield television special that has not been released on DVD. Some were expecting it to be available around June 2008 for Garfield's 30th birthday.
