H. Vincent (1862-?) was a French physician in Paris whose name is attached to various medical terms; as: Vincent's angina, Vincent's bacillus, Vincent's serum, Vincent's sign, etc. During World War One, France held the authority as the nation being in control of many aspects of the war; for that reason, trench mouth became loosely known by the name "Vincent's angina."
