Guy-Crescent Fagon (May 11, 1638 – March 11, 1718) was a physician and botanist. He acted as the physician to Louis XIV of France and the genus Fagonia is named for him.^[1] In 1669 he was made an honorary member of the French Academy of Sciences.

Due to the medical services he provided for the French royal family, of which practically all he treated died, he was known as the equal of princes
