The Guatemala national football team is the association football team representing the country of Guatemala and is controlled by the Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala. Founded in 1919, it affiliated to FIFA in 1946, and it is a member of CONCACAF.

The team has made three Olympic tournament appearances, competing at the 1968, 1976, and 1988 Olympic Games. It has never qualified for a finals tournament of the World Cup.

Guatemala has won the 3rd CONCACAF Championship in 1967 and the UNCAF Nations Cup in 2001. The team's best performance in a CONCACAF Gold Cup was at the 1996 edition, where it finished fourth. Guatemala obtained the silver medal at the 1983 Pan American Games in Caracas, Venezuela.

The country has not organized any major international football competitions, but it did organize the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship.

Guatemala has been a good team in the area of CONCACAF, but yet they have failed everytime to reach the world cup. During the world cup qualifiers to Germany 2006, they reached the Hexagonal Final for the first time in their history. During that time they were in group B with Costa Rica, Honduras, and Canada. They started by beating Canada 2-0 and then beat Costa Rica in a miracle game in "Mateo Flores". Then went to Honduras and tie 2-2. Then lost to Costa Rica 5-0 and then they beat Honduras 1-0 in an amazing game. Then in the hexagonal final they could get enough points to see them classified to the World Cup. Then in 2008, the hopes of all Guatemala raised again to classified to South Africa 2010. But loses to USA and Cuba and tying to Trinidad and Tobago in Guatemala city, close the hopes of advancing to a world cup. In october 2009, Brayan Jimenez was elected as the new president of the federation and he will be on command starting december 7 of 2009 until 2013.
