- Christina Aguilera became the second youngest artist to win a Grammy Award at 19 years and 2 months old. She is also the youngest Latino to win a Grammy.
- Many of the "Teen Pop" acts of the latter part of the 90s received nominations. The Backstreet Boys received five nominations but won no awards; losing to Santana and Sting respectively. Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera both lost Female Pop Vocal Performance to Sarah McLachlan, however Christina Aguilera won Best New Artist.
- Eminem won his first Grammy Awards of his career in 2000.
