Governor Francisco Gabrielli International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional Gobernador Francisco Gabrielli) (IATA: MDZICAO: SAME), better known as El Plumerillo International Airport, is located 8 km (5 miles) northeast of the center of Mendoza, a city in the Mendoza Province of Argentina. The airport covers an area of 490 hectares (1210 acres) and is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A.[1][2]

The terminal building is 12,800 square meters (137,778 square feet) and has 2 levels. There are 161 parking spaces at the airport, two arrival/departure lounges and 4 gates.

Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, also known less formally as the Andes flight disaster, was a chartered airline flight from Montevideo carrying 45 rugby team members and associates to Santiago (Chile), who made a Stopover in Mendoza Airport. This aircraft crashed in the Andes on Friday the 13th of October, 1972. The last of the 16 remaining survivors were rescued by December 23, 1972.
