Gopal H. Gaonkar (born 1938) is a Professor of Engineering at Florida Atlantic University, Florida ^[1] (FAU). He is known for his work in helicopter dynamics, floquet theory and large-Scale and parallel computing ^[2].

Prior to joining FAU, Gaonkar was a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and a Research Professor at University of Southern Illinois, Edwardsville. He earned his D. Sc. degree in Helicopter Engineering from Washington University, St. Louis in 1967, his M.E. degree in Civil Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai and B.E. from B.V.B. College of Engineering & Technology, Hubli.

Gaonkar is Journal Editor-in-Chief of the Technical Council of American Helicopter Society ^[3].
