For the Dublin South-East TD Fianna Fáil, see Gerard Brady. Gerard "Gerry" Brady (born 1948) is a former Irish Fianna Fáil politician and a former Teachta Dála (TD) for Kildare.[1] He was elected at the February 1982 general election to the 23rd Dáil, but at the November 1982 general election he lost his seat to Fine Gael's Bernard Durkan. He was defeated again in the 1987 general election, and did not stand for Dáil Éireann again. Having served only ten months in the Dáil, he became the sixth shortest-serving TD, a record which he still holds. However, in the 1985 local elections he was elected to Kildare County Council as a councillor for Celbridge, and held his council seat in the 1991 elections. [2] His wife Áine (née Kitt), was elected as TD for the Kildare North in the 2007 general election. Her brothers Tom and Michael are both TDs, as was her father Michael Snr. Gerry and Áine have four children. [edit] References
