The grave of George Freeman
George David Freeman (1935–1990)[1] was a Sydney racing identity and illegal casino operator.[2][3] In 1967 he was jailed for 6 months for a stealing offence and fined $500 for SP bookmaking in 1983.[4] He died in 1990 of heart failure due to an asthma attack and is buried at Waverley Cemetery in Bronte, Eastern Sydney.[1][3] He was portrayed by Peter O'Brien in the 2009 Australian television series Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities.[5]
