Gabriel Torje (born November 22, 1989 in Timişoara) is a Romanian football player, currently under contract at FC Dinamo Bucureşti. Touted as one of the most promising young midfielders in the League, he made his debut during the 2005/2006 season for Politehnica Timişoara against FC Argeş Piteşti and scored on his second match, against Farul Constanţa. In a friendly match against ACF Fiorentina, he impressed the opposition's manager Cesare Prandelli, who described him as an exceptional player.

On January 15, 2008, Torje signed a five year contract with league champions FC Dinamo Bucureşti. The reported transfer fee is $2 million^{[citation needed]}, thus becoming the most expensive transfer between two Romanian teams.^{[citation needed]} The 20 year-old is rated in the £5 million class by his Romanian club and is also being tracked by Olympiacos and Fenerbahce.^{[citation needed]}

Torje is the captain of Romania's U21 international squad.

On 22 November 2008, he, Lucian Goian, Adrian Ropotan and Cristian Pulhac were filmed at Torje's birthday party. The players were drunk and singing manele dedicated to Steaua Bucharest, Dinamo's fierce rival club. These acts were filmed by a girl who sold the recording to a Romanian tabloid newspaper, Libertatea. Pulhac and Goian were put on the transfer list while Torje and Ropotan have issued public apology.
