[edit] Early life

Born in San Juan Metro Manila to Rolando "Rollie" Concepcion (1937-2008), who was also Gabo's Manager, a Filipino of Spanish descent, and Lourdes Arellano. Gabby was a prominent relative of Juan Arellano (National Artist for Architecture who built many landmarks in Manila like Metropolitan Theater, and the Post Office building), his great grandfather.

[edit] Showbiz Life

Gabby's rise to stardom began when he first appeared in a Close-Up commercial. That led him to become a moviestar as "Regal baby" with "Katorse" and earned him a Matinee Idol status. He was also teamed up with the megastar, Sharon Cuneta, (whom he later married in 1984 and lasted only a few years before their annulment) in a pre-Viva movie "Dear Heart" and Viva's first movie "P.S. I Love You" (which became a major success in Philippine cinema). Aside from Sharon, he also co-starred with big actors such as Christopher de Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Julie Vega, Janice de Belen, Maricel Soriano, Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor in numerous films.

Gabby Concepcion Was Last Together of His Leading Lady Movies Vilma Santos in Sinungaling Mong Puso in 1992 His Character Roman Ong-Chiong The Bad Influence and Villains of His Former Wife Clara Ong-Chiong Vilma Santos.

Gabby Concepcion's career however was much affected when he was involved in the 1994 Manila Filmfest Scandal. The winners announced for Best Actor and Best Actress were Gabby Concepcion and Ruffa Gutierrez (of "Loreta," of which Gabby also starred). The scandal erupted when it was later learned that the real winners were supposed to be Edu Manzano and Aiko Melendez (Maalaala Mo Kaya the Movie). It was Concepcion who blew the whistle on an attempt by his own manager Lolit Solis to manipulate the results of the film festival awards.

[edit] Leaving Showbiz

Gabby left showbiz in March 1995 and moved to the United States, where he pursued a degree in Management Information Systems at Lincoln University. Gabby later became a successful multi-awarded licensed realtor in California, USA.

[edit] Back to the screen

He appeared content with his career and family life in the US when in early in April 2008, Gabby made a surprise and warmly received comeback to Philippine showbiz when he became one of the contract stars of ABS-CBN. First appearing in an episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" he will next star with Claudine Barretto in a teleserye Iisa Pa Lamang. Gabby has a contract of full time years with ABS-CBN. Gabby is now 45 years old After Finish of the Last His Screen.

[edit] Personal life

Gabby has four children namely: Maria Kristina Cassandra (popularly known as KC Concepcion, a commercial model-actress and daughter to Sharon Cuneta); Gabrielle Julia Marie (daughter to Grace Ibuna); Cloie (daughter to model-actress Jenny Syquia-Skarne); and Samantha Alexis (daughter to present wife Genevieve Yatco Gonzales).

Gabby is extremely kind and loving towards all his children. The media did report though that he was not as close to his daughter, Gabrielle Julia Marie (known as Gabby's and Grace's "love" child. The media also reports, "they've spent more time together and they're patching up the holes in their relationship."
