François de Fossa was a French classical guitarist and composer. He was born in Perpignan on 31 August, 1775. He died in 1849.

His father, also named François de Fossa, was one of the most important historians of the region of French Catalonia, known as the Roussillon. Guitarist and composer, and an officer in the French army. He travelled to Mexico in the 1790s. He translated Dionisio Aguado's method into French and arranged for its publication in Paris.
