Flozell Adams[1] (born May 18, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American football offensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He was drafted in the second round (38th overall) in the 1998 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan State. Adams is a five-time Pro Bowl selection 2003–2004 and 2006–2008.
[edit] High school careerAdams attended Proviso West High School in Hillside, Illinois, from 1990–1994 and was a letterman in football, wrestling, and track and field. In football, he was an All-State selection as a senior, and in wrestling, he went to the state heavyweight wrestling finals as a junior. [edit] College careerAdams attended Michigan State University. As a senior, he won All-America honors, was named the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year, and was a semi-finalist for the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award. As a sophomore, he was a second team All-Big Ten Conference selection. [edit] Professional careerAdams, was drafted in the 1998 NFL Draft has played his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys. He tore his ACL in 2005 against the New York Giants and was out for the remainder of the season. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl five times in his career. He made the All-Pro Second-team for the first time in his career in 2007. On February 28, 2008, he signed a new six-year contract with the Cowboys. It was in the neighborhood of $42 million, including $15 million in guaranteed money and about $13 million in signing bonus. [edit] PersonalAdams is the cousin of former NBA player Hersey Hawkins. His nickname is "The Hotel", in reference to his 340-pound frame. He is partially deaf in his right ear (this also accounted for his draft stock falling in the days leading up to the 1998 NFL Draft).
