FPTV or Festival Portuguese Television is a Canadian category 2 Portuguese language digital cable specialty channel. It is owned by Frank Alvarez, who also owns and operates a multicultural radio station in Toronto, CIRV. FPTV was launched in the fall of 2001 and is available through a selected number of cable companies including Rogers Cable, Cogeco and Vidéotron. Festival Portuguese Television features a mix of local programming and foreign programming from Portugal. The foreign programming that airs on FPTV comes from SIC Internacional, one of the most popular private networks in Portugal.
