Eugene Koffi Adoboli (born 1934?) served as Prime Minister of Togo from 21 May 1999 to 31 August 2000. He was previously an international civil servant at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva and the United Nations Joint Inspection Unit.[1] At the time of his appointment by President Gnassingbé Eyadéma following the March 1999 parliamentary election, Adoboli was virtually unknown in Togolese politics.[2] Adoboli was defeated in a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly on 24 August 2000;[3][4] 57 deputies voted in favor of the no-confidence motion, one against it, and two abstained.[4] On 27 August, Adoboli resigned and Eyadéma accepted his resignation;[3][5] Eyadéma appointed Agbéyomé Kodjo to replace Adoboli on 29 August.[6][7] [edit] References
