Enrico Annoni (born 1 July 1966 in Giussano, Italy) is a retired Italian professional footballer, who spent most of his professional career at Roma. He also had a spell at Celtic winning the Scottish Premier League during the late 1990s where he was a hero.[citation needed] He left Celtic to return to Italy to care for his ill father. The last appearance in a Celtic shirt for Annoni was the benefit game for Phil O'Donnell, who died in December 2007. Annoni is the subject of an anecdote whereby, in a match where Celtic were performing poorly and Annoni had just been brought on as a substitute, a fan is supposed to have exclaimed "Aw naw, no Annoni on an aw noo!" (Oh no, not Annoni on as well now!). [1] [edit] References
