Elizabeth Avellán-Veloz[1] (born 8 November 1960) is an American film producer.
[edit] Early lifeAvellán was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Her grandfather, Gonzalo Veloz Mancera, created the first privately-owned Venezuelan television station, Televisa.[1] She and her family moved to Houston, Texas, as a teenager, where she attended Rice University. [edit] Movie careerShe is the current co-owner and vice president of Troublemaker Studios, the production company that she and her former husband, Robert Rodriguez, founded in 2000. Avellán was also executive producer of In and Out of Focus, a documentary about balancing motherhood and a career in the film business. [edit] Films[edit] Personal lifeShe married Rodriguez in 1990, and the couple had five children together: sons Rocket Valentino (b. 14 September 1995), Racer Maximilliano (b. 16 April 1997), Rebel Antonio (b. January 1999), and Rogue Joaquin, and daughter Rhiannon Elizabeth (b. 10 December 2005). In April 2006, Avellán and Rodriguez announced plans to separate after sixteen years of marriage, and have since divorced.[2] [edit] References
