Elisha Abas is a performing composer and concert pianist born in Israel residing in New York City. He first appeared on the world stage at the age of six and by the time he was 11 he was performing with great masters such as Artur Rubinstein, Leonard Bernstein and Zubin Mehta[citation needed][1]. After nine arduous years of touring the world, he took a break from a performing in public.[citation needed] Elisha Abas was the life-long student of Pnina Salzman, Israel's First Lady of Piano and developed a mentoring relationship with Artur Rubinstein[citation needed]. He appeared in a movie with and about Rubinstein's friends.[citation needed] [2]. Abas is the great great grandson of Alexander Scriabin.[citation needed] [3] On November 3, 2007, Elisha Abas returned to Carnegie Hall where he once performed when he was 11, alongside Isaac Stern and Leonard Bernstein to honor the life of his mentor, Artur Rubinstein. [4] In 2008, Abas completed tour in Italy during the summer of 2008 and debuted an original piece in Russia for the first time at the Smolny Cathedral in St. Petersburg during a Solo performance in the fall of 2008 and in 2009 premiered original music titled "Rebirth" at the United Nations Grand Assembly Hall.
