In simplest case, electric torque is the force heating water in the microwave oven. Variable electric field cause water molecules to periodically align dipole vector with the field vector. Energy absorbed by molecule during alignment is ultimately converted to heat energy.

Electric torque may also refer to:

• The mechanical torque of the electrical motor.
