Maria Liz lives in a poor neighborhood in Mexico City with her maternal grandfather named Mrs. Gonzalez and her English grandfather named Henry Alexander. Maria Liz was 12 years old when her mother fell into a deep depression and died soon after. Mr. Alexander lost his fortune by a fall in stock market values and the additional blow of the death of his daughter affected his mind. With effort and determination, Maria Liz managed to finish her studies and became a nurse, although she does not live her dream to study medicine. While it still contained her grandfather's work, she keeps it in a suitcase full of stocks and bonds hoping that someday his fortune will recover. Maria Liz also helps in what she can with her boyfriend, Marcelo, who studies engineering. But, Marcelo is an egotistical man who only thinks about finishing his career and leaving the neighborhood as soon as he obtains good work, forgetting the sacrifices that his parents and Maria Liz have made. In an elegant district of the city Sebastián lives with his mother, Doña Lucrecia. Sebastián is a civil engineer and a working man. He detests the false world in which his mother lives that was addressed to the fortune that she inherited from her husband for her political family. With work and sacrifices, she has obtained a high standard of life. Marcelo finds a job as a construction worker at the coonstruction site where Sebastián works and immediately forgets his promise of marriage to Maria Liz. He begins to try anything to take Sebastián's position at the site and his girlfriend, Araceli, who is the daughter of the owner of the construction site. When a worker is wounded in an accident, Sebastián takes him to the hospital where Maria Liz works. Although the first encounter is conflicting, Sebastián realizes that she is a very good nurse and soon after helps her so that she takes care of his mother. But Doña Lucrecia begins to make his life a living hell for him when she finds out that Sebastián has fallen in love with Maria Liz, and she loves him back. Doña Lucrecia wants the economic security and the social level that Maria Liz obtains that the selfish and superficial Araceli would give him, thus she is allied with Rosalía, who always hated María Liz because Dr. Arnaldo Herrera is in love with her when Rosalía loved him. But Sebastián found out that Maria Liz is the woman of his dreams, a noble, strong and sincere woman who knows that: “El Amor No Tiene Precio”. In spite of the obstacles that Lucrecia, Araceli and Rosalía put to them to test their love, they do not manage to separate them. They decide to get married and problems begin when the villainous Luciano sets a trap for Miguel Augusto that made him commit suicide. Seabastián married María Liz at the wedding and she is in love with him. Mariano falls in love with María Liz, who discovers that she has gotten pregnant by Sebastián. In the series finale, Mariano was sent to the insane asylum in Miami, Florida for a long period of time, Ivana Santalucia freezes to death in a meat plant and the psychotic Marcelo and his rival die a slow and painful death during a fight. Finally, Maria Liz and Sebastián Monte y Valle live happily ever after with their new families and friends. THAT IS THE END OF THE STORY.
