Educational Broadcasting System(한국교육방송공사) or EBS is a South Korean broadcasting company located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This state-operated network is known for its documentary and education programs. Initially owned by KBS, ownership was transferred to the Korean Ministry of Education after the incorporation of KBS in 1980.
EBS offers one terrestrial television channel, one radio channel, one DMB channel, and three satellite television channels in South Korea:
- EBS TV — Previously known as KBS 3TV, it is known as "Channel 13", after its VHF channel. It is available nationwide through terrestrial broadcasting and has shows aimed at a variety of people, including after-school learning programs, documentaries, and various arts and cultural programs.
- EBS FM — EBS's radio channel, the station focusses mainly on language learning.
- EBSu (S-DMB) — its mobile channel
- EBS Plus 1 (satellite) — The channel focusses greatly around the high school test curriculum and offers programming to complement and amplify the student's in-school education.
- EBS Plus 2 (satellite) — The main focus of this channel is "lifelong" learning, with various programs for younger and older viewers.
- EBSe (EBS Plus 3, satellite) — This is the network's English education channel, covering kids from kindergarten to grade 12.
Also EBS offers one cable/satelite channel, EBS America, in North America. It airs programs about Korean culture, language education, and kid's show.

EBS,though an Educational Broadcaster, is largely Funded through the means of Commercial Advertising,But since its Ratings is Much lower than any Free-to-air Networks,It gets few Ads.
Although being Independently-managed,The Korean Broadcasting System still gives 3% of its Annual License Fee Collection to EBS.[1]
EBS also receives funding from the Korean Government's Annual National Budget.
