Coordinates: 50°46′41″N 0°17′10″E / 50.778°N 0.286°E / 50.778; 0.286 Eastbourne is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It is currently a marginal seat between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, although the Conservatives have seldom lost since it was created. [edit] Boundaries The constituency covers the town of Eastbourne in East Sussex, in particular the whole Borough of Eastbourne, along with some nearby villages such as Willingdon, Wannock, East Dean, and Friston. [edit] History This seat was created by the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885. Its territory had previously been incorporated in the East Sussex constituency, which in turn had been created by the Reform Act 1832 as a division of the Sussex constituency.
