The West Research Campus is one of the three campuses of East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. The campus is located approximately four miles northwest of the main campus. The 600 acres previously was a Voice of America site. The United States Government ceased to use this facility in 1985 and sold the land to East Carolina University in 1999.
Today, the West Academic Building houses the Physician Assistant Program and the North Carolina AgroMedicine Institute. The site hosts the Coastal Studies Annex developed by the Office of State Archaeology in cooperation with ECU’s Program in Maritime Studies. The remains of the Queen Anne's Revenge are housed at this facility.
