Dr. Ray O Johnson is the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Lockheed Martin Corporation. [1] As a member of the executive leadership team, Dr. Johnson provides strategic leadership to the Corporation and guidance to the more than 71,000 engineers and scientists in the areas of technology and engineering. This strategic focus spans more than 4,000 programs enterprise-wide. Dr. Johnson was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He holds Board of Director positions at the Sandia Corporation and the International Society for Optical Engineering, SPIE, and he is on the Advisory Board of Project Lead the Way. In addition, Dr. Johnson is on the Board of Visitors of the Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. Formerly, Dr. Johnson has held the positions of Chief Operating Officer at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) and Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Concepts Business Unit at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). As part of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board from 2001 to 2005, Dr. Johnson chaired the 2003 Summer Study titled Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Perspective: Effects, Capabilities, and Technologies. He also co-chaired the 2002 Summer Study titled, Predictive Battlespace Awareness. [2] He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi. In addition, he is a Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Dr. Johnson was invited to participate in the 2009 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. He served on the New Frontiers of Conflict panel where he discussed new trends in conflict and countries’ ability to respond to them.[3] [edit] External links
