Dr. Jack P. Gunter is a plastic surgeon based in Dallas, Texas. His exclusive area of focus is in the field of rhinoplasty. Dr. Gunter is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, and serves as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Department of Otolaryngology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Gunter is a distinguished lecturer and educator, and, along with noted plastic surgeons Rod Rohrich, MD and William P. Adams, MD, is co-editor of the reference book, Dallas Rhinoplasty: Nasal Surgery by the Masters[1]. Dr. Gunter also founded the Annual Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium, now in existence for 27 years, which he still co-chairs with Dr. Rohrich. He is a founding member of the Rhinoplasty Society, a non-profit organization based in Jacksonville, Florida whose members include rhinoplasty surgeons from all over the world. The organization’s mission is to provide an outlet for surgeons who specialize in rhinoplasty to openly exchange ideas and techniques involving nasal surgery.

Dr. Gunter completed his Residency in Otolaryngology at Tulane University EENT Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, and his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Michigan hospitals in Ann Arbor. He was also awarded an NIH Fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Dr. Gunter received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dr. Gunter is known as an expert in open rhinoplasty techniques, and is considered one of the world’s leading specialists in the field of primary and secondary (revision) rhinoplasty. He routinely presents lectures for international meetings and symposia, and is the recipient of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons 2004 President’s Award for excellence in plastic surgery education. He is also a winner of the Simon Fredricks Award from the Aesthetic Society Board of Trustees & the Aesthetic Surgery Education & Research Foundation, as well as the Tiffany Award for his paper: “A Graphic Record of Intraoperative Maneuvers in Rhinoplasty: The Missing Link for Evaluating Rhinoplasty Results”.
