Dominico Antonini (born 30 November 1986 in Winnipeg, Manitoba[1]) is a Italian-Canadian[2] soccer player who currently plays for North York Astros in the Canadian Soccer League.

[edit] Playing career

Antonini began his career with Phoenix Soccer Club[3] and was in 2001 part of the Boys U-15 Manitoba Provincial Team[4]. He was signed by North York Astros for the CSL 2008 season. Antonini was among the new additional signings done by Astros head coach Vladimir Klinovsky midway through the season; in order to strengthen his squad for the battle over the final playoff berth. On July 6, 2009 he made his full Astros debut in a 2-2 draw versus the St. Catharines Wolves; he contributed by helping the Astros achieve their first point of the 2009 season[5]. Soon after Antonini secured himself a starting position as a defender playing as a rightback. Though the Astros did overwhelmingly improve under Klinovsky leadership, it was not enough to secure the final playoff spot. The Astros would end up finishing second last in the National Division, eight points behind the final playoff spot.

[edit] Personal life

Antonini studies Business and Society at York University in Toronto[6].
