Dmitry Pietrman, also known as Dimitry Piterman (born 1964) is an Ukrainian-American businessman. Piterman came to prominence in Spain due to his controlling stakes in several football clubs. He was the owner of Palamós CF between 2001 and 2003, shortly after becoming the major shareholder and president of Racing de Santander. Upon leaving that post he once again became the majority shareholder at yet another Spanish club, Deportivo Alavés, since 2004. Pietrman was noted for always having Chuchi Cos as the manager of his teams, although it was said he was often the one selecting the tactics. Between 2001 and 2005, Pietrman and Cos played 126 matches in Spanish football, winning 63, drawing 29 and losing 34. In 2006 Pietrman purchased a United Soccer Leagues First Division franchise in San Francisco, California. He named his new team the California Victory. |
