Diyarbakırspor is a Turkish football club based in Diyarbakır, southeast Turkey. It has played in Bank Asya League One and is playing in the Turkcell Super League in the season 2009-2010. Founded in 1968, the club plays at Diyarbakır Atatürk Stadium, which has a capacity of 14,963. It played in the top division for 10 seasons and the best position was 5th in 1978-79 season. Diyarbakırspor's 6 points were deducted since they had failed to pay the 189.879 euro transfer fee of Borislav Mikic, who was a Bosnian player for them in July 31, 2008. But this decision was revoked later. The club displayed a good performance in Bank Asya First League and guaranteed returning to Turkcell Super League after 1-1 drawing with Manisaspor at away match in May 3 in 2008-2009 season. Manisaspor also earned a promotion at the same season.
