This article is about the king of Thrace whose horses were stolen by Heracles. For other uses, see Diomedes (disambiguation). King Diomedes (Διομήδης) of Thrace was a giant, the son of Ares and Cyrene.[1] He lived on the shores of the Black Sea ruling the warlike tribe of Bistones.[2][3] He is known for his four man-eating horses,[4] which Heracles stole in order to complete the eighth of his Twelve Labours, slaying Diomedes in the process.[5] [edit] References
