MARCA is a Spanish daily sports newspaper that deals mostly with football-related topics. Since 1984, Marca belongs to Recoletos group. It has a readership of over 2,300,000, the highest in Spain for a daily newspaper and more than half of sports readership.^[1]

MARCA online Marca.com was created in 1995 and is the most visited sports website in Spain with 3,116,384 users a month.^{[citation needed]}

MARCA on the radio Since February 2001 there has also been an associated 24-hour/day sports radio station, Radio Marca.

MARCA was founded on December 21 1938, at the height of the Spanish Civil War, in San Sebastian by pro-nationalist forces. Its first editor was Manuel Fernández Cuesta.

On 25 November 1942 it ceased being published as a weekly publication and has been published as a daily ever since.

On December 21, 2007 MARCA hosted a gala event, featuring the leading Spanish sportsmen of the 20th century, to celebrate the newspaper's 70th anniversary. ^[2]

The paper has been involved in an ongoing dispute with Sir Alex Ferguson since the summer of 2008 when he accused MARCA of being "...a vehicle to unsettle players" on behalf of Real Madrid^[3] - in reference to the alleged tapping-up of Cristiano Ronaldo.

• Pichichi - To the highest league goalscorer.
• Zarra - To the highest league goalscorer of Spanish nationality.
• Zamora - To the best goalkeeper.
• Miguel Muñoz - To the best manager
• Guruceta - To the best referee.
• Di Stefano - To the best player.
