Devon Joseph Werkheiser (born March 8, 1991) is an American actor and musician, best known for his starring role as Ned Bigby on the Nickelodeon sitcom Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide and for his role in the 2007 TV Movie Shredderman Rules, as the lead character Nolan Byrd. He also did a performance with Daniel Curtis Lee at The Give Back in May 30, 2009.[1]
[edit] Personal lifeDevon was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Johns Creek, Georgia. His parents enrolled him in acting classes at the Talent Factory, a local children’s acting program. After landing a minor role in We Were Soldiers, Werkheiser and his mother moved to LA to pursue his acting career. Since his arrival in Hollywood, Werkheiser landed several television and film roles, the biggest of which is that of Ned Bigby on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. Recently, Werkheiser was cast in two significant roles in the upcoming movies Love at First Hiccup and The Prankster, both of which will feature his music.[2] Currently, Werkheiser is pursuing acting and music careers. He is also active in several charities, most notably the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, which aids seriously ill children. He dated his Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide co-star Lindsey Shaw. [edit] Music careerWerkheiser signed with Universal Records for his debut album, which is expected to be released sometime in 2009.[3] His album, which is described as being a combination of rock and pop, will feature him singing and playing the guitar.[4] Werkheiser has requested that he be able to co-write the lyrics and music of all of his songs, and he has been working with artists including Tim Myers, Wally Gagel, Eddie Galan, and Charlie Midnight to help write his songs.[5] He performed live shows with female vocalists Kristen Marie Hollyin and Britney Christian[6] and plans to go on live tours after the release of the album.
