Deniz Akkaya was born on 3 August 1977 in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied American philology at Istanbul University. In 1997 she decided to embark on a professional modelling career. She is also an actress, and an editor for a fashion magazine. She has acted in "Vizontele Tuuba", "Okul", "Metro Palas", "Şarkılar Seni Söyler" and "Yeşil Işık".
