Deborah Knight, born Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, is a newsreader for the evening Channel 10 television news in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She also occasionally reads the Late News.

She studied at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, New South Wales where she earned a degree in journalism, graduating in 1993[1]. During her studies she was a broadcaster with on-campus community radio station 2MCE-FM[citation needed].

She began her career in the media working for the radio station 2WG in Wagga Wagga and then moved to Mix 106.5 in Sydney before accepting a position with the ABC[1]. During her time at the ABC she took on various roles including rural reporting, working for the youth orientated Triple J and hosting the prestigious AM and breakfast programme on Radio National.

She joined Network Ten's press gallery after being discovered by the channel's political editor, Paul Bongiorno. She would regularly host Meet the Press and the Network News before joining George Donikian on the Adelaide news over summer 2000/01 then moving overseas to work at Ten's US Bureau in Los Angeles for three years. While there she reported for Ten News and in|Entertainment.

Knight moved back to Australia in November 2004 where she worked as a fill-in newsreader before she joining Ron Wilson as co-hosting Channel Ten's main five o'clock bulletin in Sydney in January 2006 after the departure of Jessica Rowe to Nine Network. She is also the regular substitute presenter for Meet The Press on Sunday mornings.

At the end of 2008 and the start of 2009 Deborah Knight, aged 36, went on maternity leave to have a baby with her husband Lindsay Dunbar, who is a television producer with ABC. This is after eleven attempts at IVF[2] Knight gave birth to a baby boy, Darcy William Dunbar, on 26 February 2009.[3]
