[edit] Basketball career (1998-1999)

Playing with the Adelaide 36ers in the National Basketball League (Australia), Brogan was part of the 1998 side that won the NBL championship. He later quit the sport to focus on Australian rules.

[edit] Football career (2001-)

Known as a solid ruckman, Brogan debuted in 2001. When Port Adelaide were premiers in 2004, Brogan became the first sportsman to win titles in both the NBL and AFL. With the recurrent injuries and subsequent retirement of Matthew Primus between 2003 and 2005, Brogan's fine work in tandem with fellow Power and 2006 All-Australian ruckman Brendon Lade continues to form an integral part of Port's hopes in season 2009.

[edit] Off field controversies

In 2006, Brogan was involved in an incident at an airport in which he allegedly assaulted Dale Mortimer, an Adelaide Crows fan. On 20 July 2006 Brogan was formally charged by police for assaulting a doctor in October 2005. Both these charges are currently before the courts. [1]
