[edit] Playing career

Stagg is an old boy of Padua College in Brisbane. His position of choice is in the Second Row. David Stagg can also play lock and due to this mobility can also play in the centres and this is where he played in the Broncos' 2006 grand final victory. He is one of the best one-on-one tacklers in the competition,[citation needed] thus giving him the nickname "Tackling Machine". Stagg signed with the Canterbury Bulldogs for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.[1]

In April 2009, he was named in the preliminary 25 man squad to represent Queensland in the opening State of Origin match for 2009.[2]
