David Pratt (born 1 August 1987[2]) is an English footballer who plays for Basingstoke Town. He plays as a midfielder and as a striker.

Pratt is notable for holding an alleged world record for receiving the fastest ever red card during a game.[3] In a game against Bashley on 27 December 2008, Pratt fouled opposing midfielder Chris Knowles three seconds in. Chippenham went on to lose the match 2–1, though held a 1–0 half-time advantage.[3][4]

The record was previously held by former Bologna player Giuseppe Lorenzo, who struck a player of the opposition 10 seconds in to a game in 1990.[3][5] The former English record was held by goalkeeper Kevin Pressman since 2000 when he was sent off after 13 seconds in a match for handling outside the area.[6]

On 18 May 2009 Pratt joined Basingstoke Town on a one year contract.[7]
