David Hale (born 22 May 1984) is an Australian Rules in the Australian Football League.

[edit] Early life

Hale was born in Tasmania, but moved with his parents in his childhood to Queensland, where he grew up in the Coolangatta area on the Gold Coast. In 2000, he began playing with the Coolangatta club in Division 2 of the state league where he was selected in the AIS/AFL Academy squad .[1] In 2001, he switched to Broadbeach and represented Queensland at the under 18 national championships.

Hale was recruited from the Broadbeach Football Club. He represented the Queensland Scorpions at U16 and U18 state championship levels before being taken at pick 7 in the 2001 AFL Draft by the Kangaroos Football Club.

Standing at 201cm, Hale is a ruckman but also been used as a forward and less on the ruck due to the emergence of Hamish McIntosh.

Hale is on target to play his 75th game and his 50th consecutive game this year. He has recently kicked a career high 8 goals against Reigning Premier Geelong at Skilled Stadium. However, it was not enough to win the game for the Roos, they lost 115-82
