Daren Brown (born June 13, 1967 in Holdenville, OK) currently resides in Amarillo, TX with wife, Cindy. Brown is in his first year as the manager of the Tacoma Rainiers, his seventh season in the Seattle Mariners organization.

[edit] Coaching career

Brown spent 1994-2000 with the independent league Amarillo Dillas. He was a pitching coach from 1994-97 and was the club's manager from 1998-2000, compiling a 203-77 (.725) record which included winning the Texas-Louisiana League Championship in 1999.

In his first season with the Seattle Mariners he managed the club's single-A affiliate, the San Bernardino Stampede, Brown led club to 77-63 overall record in 2002 and first place finish in the first half of the season. They fell in the first round of playoffs He helped San Bernardino reach the postseason in 2001 with a 43-27 second-half record, tops in the South Division, fell in the first round of the playoffs.

In 2003 Brown led the Mariners' Class A affiliate, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to a 69-66 record in 2003. Wisconsin earned a playoff berth with a 38-28 first half and finished second in the division. The Timber Rattlers lost in the first round of the postseason.

He spent 2004-2005 as manager of the Inland Empire 66ers. Led them to a 77-63 record and was the only team in Mariners organization to play in the postseason in 2004.

In 2006 Brown managed the San Antonio Missions. Brown led the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers to a division championship in 2009 when the team beat Colorado Springs on the final day of the season.
