Dante is the stage name of Jay Dante Rusciolelli (born October 2, 1970[1]), an American stand-up comedian from Ridgecrest, California.[2] Dante started his comedy career at age 15 in 1986. He attended United States International University (now part of Alliant International University) in San Diego with Jamie Foxx. Dante has opened up for comedians such as Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, and "Weird Al" Yankovic.[2] He has appeared on over 40 TV shows, mostly as a stand-up comic.[3] He won the $10,000 grand prize on ABC's America's Funniest People. He starred on a sitcom, The Blackberry Inn on BET,[3] and holds the record for winning the most comedy awards at the BET Awards. Dante appeared on the fifth season of Last Comic Standing, where he placed ninth. Dante has performed more for the US troops than any comedian since Bob Hope.[citation needed] He wrote a segment of The Underground Comedy Movie.[3] [edit] Notes
