[edit] Playing career

A native of Vancouver, Gendur played Junior A hockey for one season in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Cowichan Valley Capitals. The following season, in 2004–05, he joined the major junior ranks with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In his draft year, in 2006–07, Gendur was traded to the Everett Silvertips and accumulated 49 points between the two teams. He was then drafted in the off-season by the his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks in the 7th round, 206th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Gendur returned to the Silvertips upon being drafted and recorded a team-leading 84 points, eighth overall in league scoring[1] and good for WHL West Second Team All-Star honours.[2]

In 2008–09, Gendur turned pro and was assigned by the Canucks to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League (AHL). After a brief stint with Manitoba, he was re-assigned to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL. On December 10, 2009 Gendur was reassigned to the Johnstown Chiefs after only playing eight games with Victoria in the 2009-2010 season.[3]
