Dan DiDio (born October 24, 1959) is the Senior Vice President — Executive Editor, DC Universe, for DC Comics. Wizard magazine recognized him as its first ever “Man of the Year” back in 2003 for his work on the DC Universe line.
[edit] Career[edit] TV workPrior to joining DC Comics, DiDio worked in television, beginning in 1981. He worked extensively in the daytime soap opera industry on soaps such as Loving and The City. [edit] Mainframe EntertainmentAfter leaving ABC, DiDio was a freelance writer and story editor for Mainframe Entertainment, specifically working on ReBoot and War Planets. Joining the company full time he became Mainframe's Senior Vice President of Creative Affairs. Dan was given the opportunity to pursue other ventures but only after selling Mainframe Entertainment's property Scary Godmother to YTV for one Canadian dollar.[citation needed] [edit] DC ComicsSince 2006, DiDio has been writing a weekly column called "DC Nation" which has then been appearing on the end page of most of DC Comics's main superhero titles; originally, the column was tied in to the yearlong weekly maxi-series 52, a project which he oversaw, but it has continued since. [edit] WritingDan Didio began writing comics for DC with the Metal Men feature in Wednesday Comics, with art by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. In January of 2010, Dan will take over The Outsiders (comics) with art by Phillip Tan. [edit] TriviaDiDio, along with Geoff Johns,[1] is also said to have "mandated" the status change of Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew in Countdown. [edit] References
