Damien Blanch is an Australian-born Irish international rugby league footballer for Super League club, Catalans Dragons
Blanch's usual position is winger. He has previously played for Widnes Vikings, Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.[3]
He received an international call-up from Ireland in November 2006,[4] and was named in the Ireland squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.[5] He finished the tournament among the top try scorers, attracting praise from many pundits for his good performances as Ireland exceeded expectations.
He was named Ireland player of the year for 2009.[6]
Blanch signed with Catalans Dragons at the end of the 2010 Super League season.[7] In 2011 he was the club's top try-scorer.
