The DC Rollergirls are the only flat track roller derby league in Washington, DC. Historically, DC was home to the Washington DC Jets, which played banked track derby until 1978.^[1] Roller derby has grown in popularity since 2003, largely due to the creation of the WFTDA. The DC Rollergirls play at the DC Armory.

Upon creation in 2006, the league had four teams, including the now folded Secretaries of Hate.

The DC Rollergirls also have an all-star team which competes on a national level. As of November, 2009, they were ranked 9th in the eastern region of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association^[3].
