David (DJ) Williams is a former American football defensive back. Williams played collegiately at Florida State University from 1988 through 1991. Williams was drafted into the Canadian Football League in 1991 playing for both the Calgary Stampeders and the Saskatchewan Roughriders through the 1996 season.

Williams played at Florida State from 1988 to 1991. Under head coach Bobby Bowden and defensive coach Mickey Andrews, Williams became a speed defensive back in the tradition of Florida State football.

In Williams' first season, the Seminoles finished the season with a record of 11-1 and finished #3 in the nation, including a win against Auburn 13-7 in the Sugar Bowl game played in the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1989, Williams finished the year as the dimeback with 23 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 interceptions. The Seminoles finished the season with a record of 10-2 and finished #2 UPI & #3 AP in the nation, including a massive win against Nebraska 41-17 in the Fiesta Bowl game played in Tempe, Arizona.

Williams became the nickelback in the 1990 season. He had 58 tackles, 5 sacks and 5 interceptions during his junior season for the Seminoles. The Seminoles finished the season with a record of 10-2 and finished #4 in the nation, including a tough win against legendary coach Joe Paterno and Penn State 41-17 in the Blockbuster Bowl in Miami, Florida.

Williams was again the nickelback in an injury filled 1991 season for him. He had 37 tackles, 2 sacks and 4 interceptions during his final season for the Seminoles. The Seminoles finished the season with a record of 11-2 and finished #4 in the nation. The Noles had to fight to a hard fought win against Texas A&M 10-2 in the Cotton Bowl Classic in Dallas, Texas.

Williams played seven injury plagued seasons in the Canadian Football League. He played for the Calgary Stampeders from 1991 through 1997 including a short stint with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1995. He played and was on the winning side with the Stampeders of the classic 1992 Grey Cup and with the Stampeders was also on the losing side of the classic 1995 Grey Cup.
